Preparation time: 20-40 min
Difficulty: easy
For 1 small jar
Ingredients:
2 cups raw almonds
a pinch of salt
Place raw almonds on the baking tray and roast them at 356°F/180°C until they are golden brown, approximately 20 minutes. Add warm almonds to a food processor and gradually mix until the fat starts to excrete and you get a butter-like texture. Mixed almonds will collect on the edge of the food processor. Use a spatula to scrape them off and mix them again. The key to making the butter is patience. You may replace almonds with other nuts. If you use peanuts, pistachios or hazelnuts, remove the skin before mixing them while they are still hot.
Spread the butter on freshly baked bread, add a few banana slices or mashed avocado on top. You may also use the butter for desserts, smoothies and it makes a great base for sweet spreads.
Use your imagination and tailor the recipe to your taste. Enjoy creativity and Bon Apetit.
